This descriptive study aimed to examine the quality of life in 100 outpatients with post cardiac valvular replacement in Suppasitthiprasong Hospital during September 2008. All patients were interviewed by using the modified Short Form 36 (SF 36, Thai version). The result demonstrated that the overall quality of life of subjects was in good level with mean score of 4.06. In addition, their level of quality of life on social functioning and mental health domains were the highest with mean score of 4.33 and 4.30, respectively, and the lowest level was physical functioning with mean score of 3.73. The analysis of relationship between the overall quality of life level and characteristic populations yielded that the overall quality of life level of patients with post cardiac valvular replacement was significantly related to the factors of age, marriage status, hometown, competency level of heart, type of surgery, understanding how to care their health, understanding about risk factor, income, education and occupation (p<0.001) |
