The purposes of this research were to study knowledge, attitude and practice about infected rubbish discrimination of the nurses and to find their related factors. Research tool was the invented questionnaire which has been tried out with 0.76 reliability value. The questionnaires were distributed to targeted nurses in Roi-et hospital and were analyzed with SPSS for Windows V.15 program to find frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test value and F-test value. Demographic data of the subjects were: 97.2 percents female, 37.39 average years old, 95.2 percents of bachelor degree, 35.1 percents had 11 working years and above, 36.0 percents had participations in a rubbish disposal workshop. In the dimension of knowledge about infected rubbish, the average of targeted nurses ( = 82.81) had a very good level of knowledge. There were no statistical significant differentiation of knowledge about infected rubbish discrimination (P > .05) among sex, workshops, age groups, academic backgrounds, working years in hospital and workshop participations in infected rubbish disposal. In the dimension of attitude of infected rubbish, the average of targeted nurses ( =3.77) had a good level of attitude. There were no statistical significant differentiation of attitude about infected rubbish discrimination (P > .05) among sex, workshop experiences, age groups, academic backgrounds, working years in hospital and workshop participations in infected rubbish disposal. In the dimension of behavior about infected rubbish, the average of targeted nurses ( = 1.90) had a low level of behavior. There were no statistical significant differentiation of behavior about infected rubbish discrimination (P > .05) among sex, workshop experiences, age groups, academic backgrounds, working years in hospital and workshop participations in infected rubbish disposal. There was a positive correlation (P< .05) between attitude and behavior about infected rubbish disposal. Some recommendations from the results of this research will be annually intervented of infectious control knowledges to nurses, distributed infectious control handbook, held conferences about infectious control topics and setted the infection control committee in the hospital.
