The objective of this study was to develop skin moisturizing products derived from honey and beeswax. The lotions and creams for skincare were developed and assessed their physical characteristics i.e., color, odor, viscosity, pH, smoothness, greasiness, and spread ability on skin. The short-term stability was determined in accelerated conditions (at 2-8 and 45oC) and at room temperature. The biological stability of products was assessed by microbial limit test. The irritation, elasticity, and moisturizing effect on skin were examined using Skin tester (Cutometer® MPA580) and then a comparison between formulation with and without honey and beeswax was evaluated. The satisfaction of products was assessed by 30 healthy volunteers. The results showed that the formulations with honey and beeswax demonstrated both good physical and microbiological characteristics. Moreover formulations with honey and beeswax provided good stability, moisturizing effect, and were irritation-free. The formulations with honey and beeswax depicted the better moisturizing effect and elasticity to skin than those of formulations without honey and beeswax. Results of satisfaction showed that most of volunteers were satisfied with formulations with honey and beeswax. It could be concluded that formulations with honey and beeswax had shown good efficacy for skin care products and potentially be developed as commercial products.
