Several studies indicated that employees with good health status always have good working performances. The objective of this study was to evaluate the health behaviors of Ubon Ratchathani University’s employees by questionnaires during September 1-30, 2011. The participants of this study were 238 employees working at Ubon Ratchathani University. The majority of participants were female (63.1%), aged at 30-39 year olds (45.8%), had body mass index (BMI) in the normal range (66.5%), graduated with bachelor degree or higher (85.7%), had income per month of 10,001-20,00 bath (51.7%). It was found that 59.2% of participants join in government public welfare, 63% had no chronic diseases and 47.1% considered themselves healthy. When focusing on the health behavior of the participants, they self-reported as moderate level of good health behaviors such as use of vehicles (55.9 %), stress management (55.9%), use of computer (54.9%), eating (50.4%) and health care management (45.8%). Approximately forty percents of them had low level of exercise behavior and only about ten percents accepted unhealthy behavior of smoking or consuming alcohols. The main obstacles preventing the participants to achieve goals of good health behaviors are fewer choices of healthy foods, too busy to exercise, tried from works, and etc. Moreover, the relationship of income and health behavior is a positive correlation. Here we found these obstacles are manageable. By this study, we suggest the university should encourage its employees to do more exercise and to consume more healthy foods. The university should establish an amiable environment to promote the good health behavior of its employees to increase highest work force productivity of organization.
