Title : THE STUDY OF DRUGS RELATED PROBLEMS (DRPs) OF IN-PATIENTS WITH SOLID TUMOR RECEIVED CHEMOTHERAPY AT SUPASITTHIPRASONG HOSPITAL, UBON RATCHATHANI PROVINCE.

This research aimed to study the type and incidence of drug related problems in patient with solid tumor received chemotherapy at Supasitthiprasong Hospital, Ubon Ratchathani Province, from 3 October to 4 November 2011. A sample of 134 patients who participated. To search and resolve problems used recording form and Pharmaceutical Care programs and resolve that issue. The result found 38 drug related problems (DRP) via patient preliminary assessment (19.28 %). The most common DRP found was the need for addition drug therapy equally to 12 problems (31.58%), followed by failure to receive medication found 6 problems (15.7%), adverse drug reaction found 6 problems (15.7%), improper dosage regimen found 5 problems (13.16%), patient non-compliance found 5 problems (13.16%), unnecessary drug therapy found 3 problems (7.89%) and improper drug selection found 1 problem (2.63%). Drug related problems including, drug interaction, duplication/repeated and other were not found in the study. All 38 drug related problems found were potentially solved (100 percent). Interestingly, DRP solutions can be acceptable by health professionals 63.2 percent, partially acceptable (4 problems) 10.5 percent, unacceptable (5 problems) 13.1 percent, and unassessable (5 problems) 13.1 percent, respectively. And to resolve the problems associated with research and other professional inter disciplinary, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and some have solved the problem by coordinating directly with patients. The drug related problems (DRPs) in this study through a system of filling out the form and Pharmaceutical Care of the hospital. The identification of DRPs, as well as resolve the problem by inter disciplinary medical personnel. Most can be resolve defficiently.
