Introduction= The preparation of starches as natural binders in tablets can be separated into two methods, starch paste method and dry powder technique. However, freshly prepared starch pastes utilized as binders can be prepared by spending a period of time. Starch mixing as binders in dry powder form can to reduce steps and time of process.  Objectives= The objectives of this study were to search for suitable method of preparing binders and to find the type of starch binders for paracetamol tablets gained from wet granulation technique.  Materials and Methods= The first part of this study was to observe for the suitable process for preparing binders of corn starch. Two preparing methods of starch paste and starch powder were compared Then all formulations were tablet preparation and quality control test. The second part was to search for the appropriate type of starches in order to prepare suitable binder pastes. Tablets were evaluated including weight variation, hardness, thickness, disintegration, and dissolution. Results= the preparation of binder corn starch by using starch paste method had better properties of tablets than dry powder method. Corn starch powder in the formulation by spraying water at 100°C can be still produced excellent properties .Glutinous rice starch also had a longer disintegration time than other starches.  Conclusions= Natural binders from corn starch by using starch paste method can still be the best way to prepare great binders for producing tablets by wet granulation method. Alternative preparation of binders was to use dry powder technique followed with spraying water at 100°C.
