Chlorpheniramine Maleate (CPM) is anti-histamine used for treatment of allergy and common cold with recommend to take 3 times per day.  Objective= This research was aimed to develop the CPM sustained release dosage form by using the fluid bed granulator.  Materials and Method= Two different coating polymers i.e. hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) and ethyl cellulose (EC) were used as coating solution onto CPM granules. Conditions used with Fluid bed granulator including inlet air temperature, spray time, drying time and feed rate were optimized. We used mixture of 10% HPMC and 2% diethylphthalate(HPMC10=DTL2) compared with 5%EC (EC5)in the experiment. The powder properties such as moisture content, angle of repose, and drug release profile at 1, 3 and 7 hours were evaluated.  Result= It was found that the moisture content of granule obtained from both formulas were lower than 2%.The angle of repose of (HPMC10=DTL2) and (EC5)was decreased from 39.69° to 20.96° and 28.36°respectively.The drug release profilesof both formulas were not exhibited CPM sustained releasecharacteristic.
