The objective of the present study was to determine the rate of glycemic control comparing with the Thailand DIABETES Clinical Practice Guideline 2011 and the prevalence of diabetic complications among type 2 diabetic patients who were follow up at out-patient clinic, Muang Sam Sip hospital, Ubon Ratchathani, Thailand. The retrospective, descriptive study was performed during January to June 2013. The Results show that The mean of fasting blood sugar and hemoglobin A1c were 168 ± 81.73 mg/dL and 9.3 ± 2.71%, respectively. Of 143 from 388 patients (36.86%) and 27 from 138 patients (19.57%) had FBS within 70-130 mg/dL and A1C below 7%, respectively. Of 221 patients who had diabetic complications, the number of diabetic retinopathy and diabetic nephropathy were 26 patients (31.71%) and 209 patients (51.60%), respectively. Conclusion, the most type 2 diabetic patients had the glycemic control out of the treatment recommendation. In addition, nephropathy was the most common observed complication.
