Community hospital pharmacists have high workload because they have to provide not only pharmacy services, but also work on health consumer protection, especially, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspection of manufacturer in both pre-marketing and post-marketing period. Objectives= To measure the standard time used in GMP inspection to determine the minimum pharmacist manpower. Methods= In this cross-sectional descriptive study, the expert opinion standard method was used to measure standard time. GMP task was divided into basic elements. The sample group was 5 community hospital pharmacists who were in charge of consumer protection from 5 districts in Ubonratchathani province e.g. The 50 Anniversary mahavajiralongkorn hospital, warinchamrab hospital, Detudom crown prince hospital, Trakanphuetphon hospital and Khemarat hospital. Workload calculation was based on the assumption that pharmacist will work for GMP inpection 2 days per week. Result= The average standard time for pre-marketing and post-marketing inspection was 25.83 hours and was 35.33 hours respectively. The total required pharmacist is 5.85, 1.63, 1.60, 0.74 and 0.39 person, respectively. Conclusion= The total number of required pharmacist for post-marking and pre-marketing GMP inspection was 5.85, 1.63, 1.60, 0.74 and 0.39 person, respectively
