Effect of various concentrations of Thidiazuron (TDZ) on Eurycoma hamandiana Poerre. for shoot multiplication in in vitro were investigated. Steriled seeds were cultured on basal Murashige and Skoog medium (MS) supplemented with Thidiazuron (TDZ) 1 mg/L and 1-Naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) 1 mg/L for callus induction. Callus were cultured in difference concentration of TDZ for shooting study. The study showed that the lower concentration induced shoot multiplication greater than 1 mg/L TDZ. Percentage of shoot multiplication of 0.5 mg/L between stem and cotyledon callus was 92.86 and 100 while 1 mg/L TDZ was 86.67 and 0 , respectively. The maximal shoot multiplication was generated from stem callus cultured in 0.5 mg/L TDZ. Shoots from 0.5 mg/L TDZ had more length and larger size than 1 mg/L TDZ. Thus 0.5 mg/L TDZ in MS media was the optimal condition for shoot multiplication.
