The wisdom of E-sarn folk medicine passes down through generations and is recorded inE-sarn dialect, which is difficult to understand.This poses an obstacle inapplication of traditional knowledge. Objectives: This study aimed to gather and analyze E-sarn folk medicine recipe, recorded by Dr. PreechaPhinthong, into an easily accessible form. Methods: The herbal compositions of ancient E-sarn folk medicine recipes used intreatment of 14 disorders were studied and analyzed. List of medicinal plants was presented in an Excel format with E-sarn name, Thai names, English names, scientific names, family names and their therapeutic uses. Results: From the 1,364 minor recipes, there were used 922 medicinal plants. The most frequent used medical plants in Malnutrition were ErythrophleumsuccirubrumGagnep., in Pa-dong disorderwere Bhesarobusta(Roxb.) Ding Hou, inFoodborne diseaseswereTiliacoratriandra (Colebr.) Diels, in AbscesswereSaccharumsinenseRoxb., in Upper respiratory tractinfection wereOxyceroshorridusLour.andPunicagranatum L. var. granatum, inSa-duangdisorder wereSaccharumsinenseRoxb., inHemorrhageswereNeonaucleasessilifolia (Roxb.)MerrandSmilax glabraRoxb, in AsthmawereZingiberofficinale Roscoe and Piper nigrum L., inHiccupwereSolanumstramonifoliumJacq, inPainfulwereZingiberofficinale Roscoe, inBruised and swellingwere Tinosporacrispa (L.) 'Teep'.Conclusion: This study has collected and analyzed the information of 922 medicinal plantsused in E-sarn folk medicines as a part of herbal database of ancient E-sarn folk medicine.
