Cisplatin is an alkylating agent chemotherapy. Although cisplatin has shown efficacy in various types of cancers. However, adverse reactions are an important factor that limit cisplatin treatment. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate incidences of overall adverse drug reactionfrom cisplatin in cancer patients. Methods: Theretrospective cohort study was conducted in patients who were treated with cisplatin chemotherapy during 1st of January 2014 and 31st of December 2015 at Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital UbonRatchathani. Adverse events were reported by using descriptive statistic.Incidence of each adverse reaction was compared before and after cisplatin treatment using McNemar statistic. Correlation between cisplatin cumulative dose and laboratory changing percentages were analyzed by simple linear regression. Results: 359 patient medical charts were reviewed (206 males).Median age was 49 years. Overall adverse drug reactions were found in 355 patients (98.9 percent).173 patients (48.2 percent) were reported in serious adverse reaction (Grade 3 or greater). Anemia was the most reported adverse reaction (99.2 percent). Overall adverse drug reactionwere significant increased after cisplatin treatment (P-value<0.05). Correlation between cisplatin cumulative dose and hemoglobin changing percentage was found (P-value <0.05). Conclusion: cisplatin treatment can cause a high incidences of adverse drug reaction. Some of them are classified as serious adverse reaction. Anemia is the most frequent reports adverse event which has a significant correlation with cisplatin cumulative dose.
