Angina pectoris is a chief symptom of ischemic heart diseases that cause mortality. Pharmacy students should have a good knowledge of etiology of angina and drug treatment and prevention of such symptom. Objective: This study aimed to develop and evaluate a computer–assisted instruction (CAI) of antianginal drugs for the 3rd year pharmacy students. Methods: The study was experimental design. Forty-five pharmacy students were enrolled in the study and randomly allocated to two groups as an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group (n=23) used CAI was developed by the researchers and the control group (n=22) used handout which had a same content with CAI. The pre-test and post test score were collected from the both groups while the user satisfaction in CAI was evaluated in CAI group. Results: There were no significant differences in the baseline characteristics (sex and GPAX) between groups.Post test scores of both groups were significantly higher than pre-test scores (p<0.001). However, post test scores in control group was significantly higher than intervention group (p=0.001).The total score user satisfaction was good (4.00 from 5.00). The important comments for further program development were animation and sound correlation, slow narration and lack of replay and pause buttons. Conclusion: CAI of antianginal drugs may be used for an alternative method for pharmacy student’s self-study by supplementing the traditional pharmacology lectures.
