The purposes of this study were to investigate the antibacterial activities and to formulate the mouthrinse product from 3 herbal extracts; Bosenbergia pundurata Holtt., Murraya paniculata Jack. and Spilanthes acmella Murr.. The powdered plants were extracted with ethanol and water. Antimicrobial activities were performed by using the agar disc diffusion method against 3 microorganisms; Streptococcus mutans, Candida albicans and Lactobacillus casei. It was found that only ethanolic extracts of B. pundurata Holtt. could inhibit growth of S. mutans and C. albicans with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 0.625 mg/mL by using the agar dilution method and minimum bactericidal concentration against C. albicans was 5 mg/mL while no bactericidal activity of B. pundurata Holtt. against S. mutans. The mouthrinses contained B. pundurata Holtt. 0.5 % w/v as the active ingredient were prepared. The mouthrinses product won a satisfied physical stability with good taste, clear, no sediment after 2 months.
