These purposes of this study were to develop computer assisted instruction of medical chart review instructions for pharmacy students, and to study the efficiency and the effectiveness of the CAI. The participants were forty eight 5th year pharmacy students of pharmaceutical practice at Faculty of Pharmacy, UbonRatchathani University. They were divided into 2 groups by simple random sampling= the experimental group (n=22) which were learning with CAI and the other as the control group (n=26) which were learning with traditional lectures. The results showed that the mean of pre-test score between the control and experimental groups had no significant difference (14.62 ± 1.83 vs 14.18 ± 2.13; p=0.452). The post-test score, between the control and experimental groups had no significant difference (15.92 ± 1.76 vs 15.45 ± 1.57; p=0.340). However, the post-test score was higher than the post-test score with statistically significant in both groups (the control group 15.92±1.76 vs 14.62±1.83; p <0.001; the experimental group 15.45 ± 1.57 vs 14.18 ± 2.13; p = 0.015).The overall user satisfactions of CAI were good (51.7%). The pharmacy students suggest that the CAI is probably helps students to learn how to review the medical chart and could be helpful to supplement of class lecture in order to learn more knowledge and skill from class room lecture and to enhance understanding and self-study.
