This survey study was aimed to determine requirement estimation of industrial pharmacists; only in production, assurance and quality control, registration recipe, research and development, and management sections, in the next 5 years (2009-2013). Self-developed questionnaires were sent to managers of very pharmaceutical manufactory in Thailand (167 manufactories) and 69 (41.32%) questionnaires were returned. Most of the responders were general managers (46.40%) and production pharmacists (30.40%) with average time of working of 12.71 years. The manufactories that they are working for have standard GMP plans (100%), registered a total number of 6,470 recipes (average of 109.66 ± 135.85 recipes per manufactory), produced recipes equal to registered recipes (34.80%), produced 330 patent recipes (average of 41.25 ± 76.17 recipes per manufactory). During the past 5 years (2004-2008), an average of 212, 169, 234, 194 and 276 pharmacists per year resigned from the manufactories respectively and an average of 294, 210, 292, 264 and 359 pharmacists per year were recruited respectively. The study found that requirement estimations of all industrial manufactories in the next 5 years (2009-20013) were 352, 397, 276, 234 and 195 persons; respectively.
